Courtenay resides in the beautiful PNW, in Bellingham, WA where she started riding in her final year of college as an alternative to running. It wasn’t until 2010 when she really fell in love with cycling, and it was then that she tried cyclocross and mountain biking and found that dirt was her calling! Finding early success in cyclocross at the grassroots level, she started racing the full US UCI CX Circuit in 2014, where she had her breakout season. Courtenay still races mountain bikes in the spring and summer months, but focuses on cyclocross in the fall. Courtenay has undergone 2 arthroscopic hip surgeries, rehabbed, and continued to race at the top level, what she considers one of her greatest accomplishments. She has represented the US at 2 World Championships, holds a BS and MS in Exercise Science, and when she isn’t traveling to race, ride, or vacation you can find her at home on her local trails or cuddling with her cat Nugget.
